About Dudley Street Pizza
Dudley Street Pizza is a neighborhood spot in Wallingford Square in Kittery, Maine. The Foreside has a strong sense of place - small, historic, walkable, and creative - a downtown where locals, shipyard workers, and visitors cross paths. From the beginning, we knew this space needed to feel like it belonged: familiar, unfussy, and part of the neighborhood.
That vision is shaped by Deb and Michael McCluskey, the mother-and-son duo behind Dudley Street Pizza. Long connected to the Foreside, they purchased Lil’s Cafe from local entrepreneur Michael Landgarten in 2021 and have since grown thoughtfully within the community, including the opening of Salty Spirits in 2025, a Maine oyster, small plates, and cocktail bar.
Together, their work reflects a commitment to preserving what makes the Foreside special while creating spaces that feel welcoming and rooted in place.
The Dudley Street House
The name Dudley Street comes from a small house in Hampden, Maine, where the McCluskey kids’ grandparents - Nan and Pop - lived for over 70 years.
It was a two-bedroom, one-bath home where six kids were raised. It wasn’t fancy, but it was full - of people, of stories, great food, of life. The door was always open.
Inside were the small details that made it feel like home - a wall of teaspoons from family travels, a kitchen hutch filled with potatoes and onions, a roll-top desk and wooden calendar, a corded landline and dial-up computer upstairs, and a basket stretched across the steep staircase that housed items needing to be brough upstairs.
Outside, there were crab apple trees, a pool in the yard, and a path through the fence to Uncle Paul’s house next door.
It was a place where cousins gathered and time felt slower - where everything, no matter how simple, felt meaningful.
Nan still lives there today at 91.
A Place To Gather
Dudley Street Pizza is built on that same feeling.
We serve simple, well-made food - artisan and rustic, rooted in the classics with a few thoughtful twists. But more than anything, we’re here to create a space where people feel comfortable, welcomed, and connected.
Whether you’re stopping in for a quick slice, meeting friends after work, or sitting down with family, this is a place to gather.
